(初聲合用)則並書, 終聲同.

ㆍㅡㅗㅜㅛㅠ, 附書初聲之下.

ㅣㅏㅓㅑㅕ, 附書於右.

凡字必合而成音.

左加一點則去聲.

二點則上聲, 無則平聲.

入聲加點同而促急


[Translation]

(When the initial sound is combined,) it is written together, and the final sound is the same.

ㆍㅡㅗㅜㅛㅠ are written as supplemental letters under the initial consonants.

ㅣㅏㅓㅑㅕ are written as supplemental letters on the right side.

All characters must be combined to form a sound

Adding one dot on the left side indicates a departing tone,
two dots indicate a rising tone, and none indicate a flat tone.

Adding dots to the entering tone is the same, but it is an urgent.
